This weekend,  from April 16 to April 18, the Empire State Building will honor the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) by shining its world-famous tower lights in orange and white. The lights will celebrate Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month and the organization’s Go Orange for Animals campaign.

Each year, the ASPCA urges supporters across the country to support their efforts and “Go Orange for Animals” in honor of the signing of the ASPCA’s charter in 1866.

Throughout this month, iconic buildings and landmarks across the country are supporting the ASPCA’s life-saving work by lighting up in the signature color of orange.

The ASPCA is headquartered in New York City, so it is appropriate that they maintain a local presence and light up their most famous building. The Empire State Building, the tallest building in New York, will shine bright in an orange glow for all to take notice during the three days.
