Plan to visit your local animal shelters this month! Around 25% of dogs are adopted from shelters, which means the majority of pups are euthanized. An estimated 3.7 million animals are euthanized and never get a chance to be adopted into a loving home. If you are looking for a purebred dog, 25% to 30% of the dogs are pure breeds in animal shelters.

Some of the tips are picking a dog with the same energy level that you have, figure out a schedule of when you will have time to walk the pup, ask yourself if you are a pack leader, and don’t forget the senior dogs (they make excellent pets, too).
