Pulling for Paws Rescue
Based in Ventura County, this non-profit rescue pulls dogs from death row in high-kill shelters. They don’t have a facility, but rely on volunteers to foster the canines. Pulling for Paws believes that no adoptable dog should be euthanized due to lack of space. They believe that “Every dog matters” and “They can’t change the world by saving one dog, but the world will change that one dog!”
Pulling for Paws, also, helps homeless people with pets. They provide free medical care, dog supplies, and things that will give the pup a comfortable life while they faithfully stand by their owners on the streets.
Canines waiting for homes at Pulling for Paws Rescue:
How can you pass up a dog with the name Turkey? He’s a twenty pound Basenji that was found running around in the mountains on Thanksgiving. Now, we know how he got his cute name. Turkey is playful and good with children and other dogs.
This 2 ½ year old Basenji mix is Turkey’s BFF. Don’t let his name fool you, Wiley is a quiet pup, who loves to snuggle. He’s twenty pounds, good with dogs and children, and runs like the wind!
This Pitbull/Lab mix was saved from death row. She’s 70 pounds of love and a very sweet dog, who previously had pups but is now spayed. Polly will roll on her back for a belly rub and is good with children and other dogs.
