Happy Tails Books Publishes “Lost Souls: Found!”
Lost Souls: FOUND!™ is an inspiring series of books published by Happy Tails Books™ about rescued and adopted dogs. This line of books was created to help support animal rescue efforts by sharing stories about the love, happiness, and joy that adopted dogs can give.
The books are breed-specific, sharing stories of those who love the breed and have adopted dogs through rescue. Never before has there been a series of stories about adopted dogs that are organized by breed. A portion of the book profits are donated to breed-specific rescue groups.
I was fortunate to read the series of stories in the book, “Lost Souls: FOUND!, Inspirational Stories of Adopted Boston Terriers,” edited by Kyla Duffy and Lowrey Mumford, as well as the stories in the published line of books about Golden Retrievers. As guardian of a rescued Golden Retriever, I found these stories to be particularly touching.
Initially, I wasn’t sure why the rescue stories were separated by breed. However, I found that every breed has particular traits, and that there are specific rescue operations for each.
The images of puppy mills and other horrifying images about dog abuse made it a little difficult to read one story after another; thankfully, all of the stories have happy and inspiring endings. For example, in one story, the author writes, “It may have taken some time for my dog to figure out life in a home, but it took no time at all for us to learn that because of her, our home is now complete.”
The Lost Souls: FOUND!” books are available for sale through the Happy Tails website and Amazon.com. The company has several other breeds in the works, and is still looking for rescue stories to include in upcoming book releases.
